Where it goes, and what we will not exaggerate.

What we do

• Licensed carrier. Collections are carried out by Invent Recycling Ltd, a registered waste carrier, licence CBDU497669. You can check it yourself on the government’s public register.
• Every item is classified. Each job is recorded against the correct waste code, the same classification councils use, and goes to a facility that matches it.
• Electricals are recycled. Fridges, freezers, washers and TVs go to a licensed WEEE facility to be degassed and recycled.
• Sofas are incinerated, never landfilled. UK law requires upholstered seating containing flame retardants to be destroyed. Here is why.
• You get proof. A digital waste transfer note is sent the same day, naming the carrier and the licence number.

What we do not claim

We do not publish a landfill-diversion percentage, a carbon figure or a tree count, because nothing in our system measures them and we will not put a number on a page that we cannot show the records behind. If that changes, the figure will appear here with where it comes from.

Reuse first

If a sofa, wardrobe or appliance still works, a local charity may collect it for free and put it straight back into use. British Heart Foundation and Emmaus both run furniture donation and reuse schemes with a presence in Birmingham. We are glad to clear whatever is left afterwards.

A small thing you can do

Pricing is by volume, so bagging and flat-packing before we arrive keeps the load, and the price, down.
